Pure EVOO: The Return of Montenidoli Olive Oil

Updated: Aug 17, 2021

Elisabetta Fagiuoli, the queen of Vernaccia di San Gimignano.

Can you imagine my joy when I found out that we would be able to get the 2020 vintage of Montenidoli olive oil? I hope so. Can I imagine your joy when you get a bottle in time for the height of tomato season? YES.

Montenidoli's olive oil is made from the Corregiolo and Moraiolo varieties, and like her grapevines, Elisabetta's olive trees are cultivated with organic methods. Less grassy and peppery than many a Tuscan olive oil, Montenidoli's oil tends to be soft, fruity and spicy. It is a wonderful accompaniment to meaty heirloom tomatoes, but you will find yourself loving it in so many savory applications.

The 5-liter tins will be pre-arrival special orders only. I can tell you that Michael and I have already put our orders in for tins. They will be well worth it, and you'll get a significant discount by going for the bigger format. We will stock the 500ml bottles, but they will be limited. Please do make pre-orders for bottles as well as tins.

Montenidoli Extra Virgin Olive Oil (organic) arrival late-summer

- 500ml bottle $23

- 5L tin $149 (that's $29.80 per liter)

Please let us know by May 31 if you would like to order Montenidoli's olive oil.
